Looking on the 1891 census Mary Hartley and a John Hartley. Born 1855. 1901 census for again Mary and John with a son Ralph Hartley born 1893. Possibly Manchester or surrounding area.

Hi again Lorraine, regarding Ralph Hartley I am trying to find his address when he enlisted in 1916. Ralph was with the 14th Bn.Royal Warwickshire Reg. service No.11585 and died in action aged 25 on 25/10/1917. Any help you can give will as always be much appreciated.

Hi Lorraine, thank you for the info. on Ralph Hartley, didn't realise he was living stratford on avon......as regards mary hartley his mother anmd john his father I don't know where they were born but, I think I have mary and ralph on the 1911 census, it has mary as a widow if that's her. I have always been given to believe they lived in the manchester area but who knows, I thought they may have turned up on the 1901, they are proving very elusive.

I have found a great uncle who died in Saanich Canada in 1960 age 82. He was born in Chudleigh Devon His name was Frederick Prowse born 1878. His father was Emanuel Prowse born 1836. Mother Adela Wills born 1844. We think he was married to Mary Ann who died in 1967. We have not been able to find out if he had children. Can you help please?

Another Jones, brother of the last one you found for me - Thomas Charles Jones born c1863 - we believe he went to Canada too but we know he came back - otherwise I wouldn't have been born!!
He is on the 1901 UK census and on the 1911 so he must have gone and come back between these dates. (His brother went in 1907)
