I have a 3x great-uncle, John Chiocchi, born 1829 in Liverpool, Eng who emigrated to New York sometime after the 1861 UK census. He married Mary Ellen Whiteside but I dunno whether in UK or USA. Two for his daughters were baptised same day in 1870 Liverpool but he was noted on the USA census for that year so I suspect be was merely visiting.
I would love to know (if possible) when John emigrated to the USA or anything else that can be gleaned about him.

John Chiocchi was born 1829 in Liverpool England. His daughters Elizabeth Neale Chiocchi (born 20/8/1867 NY) and Annie Whiteside (born 6/4/1869) Chiocchi were both baptised same day 24/1/1870 St Peters Liverpool, according to theIGI. But the 1870 census for New York sees them there.
I suspect John went to America after the 1861 UK census and before Elizabeth's birth in 1867 but I can't find an immigration record for him. I was wondering if you could assist in that regard?

Can you help with Us census its only a hope my GG granddad went to US NY pre 1903 not sure who he travelled,might have been with his wife, she was a Mary Greene nee Walsh they were married when she was 14 so there could be a few lies on forms, he was born 1853 she was 1883.The 2 girls born (Margreat 1903) and Mary catherine (Marie1904) and had returned to Ireland by 1908 as the next child born Ireland. Family rumour has the place in NY ??? little falls.

GG Father Frank/Francis Greene b 1853 Ireland, Co Clare wife Mary Greene/ Walsh not too sure if they were married Liverpool/Ireland or US but I'm sure lies were told as she was only 14 when they married I think she was born Co Clare also.

The Girls Margreat Born New York about 1903, Mary catherine (Maria born about 1904 then their next child born 1909 Co Clare. On the 1911 Irish census it states Frank 40 therefore b1871 and Mary b 1883 which we know is correct ,and they had been married 14 yrs therefore making her 14 when she got married.

have looked at new york marriages and there not on there so probably married in ireland

new york births go up to 1902



it unfortunatly doesnt give details of parents only child born but found these but without parents names listed it would be impossible to tell if is yours or not

Clara emily Mellor came over from wolstenholme, quebec, canada with Clara Mellor (daughter) born 1907 in Wolstenholme she may have had other sibling's, They stayed in Manchester but I havn't any dates and don't know if they went back, their daughter stayed here and married my grandfather Albert Thomas Bradley on the 21/4/1940.
