I found on another internet site a person searching for Costello's from Dumbarton , Scotland. That particular site won't let me log in arrhhh so i can't reply, so thought i would try here.

My grandad was James, john costello born 1920 coatbridge scotland, and his mother was mary scullion & his dad was Patrick Costello.
He was 1 of 9 : patrick, johm, huge, manus, george, james, mary, jeans and agnes.

my grandad died in 1981 (he moved from scotland to Bristol) and my nan (Catherine Costello) died in 2004.

They had 3 sons, Patrick (my dad) , Anthony & Jon.
i am liz costello Patricks daughter.
Anyone whom this makes sense too i'd love to hear from you :)
Best wishjes, liz
