John Jones born son of John Parry. Lived in North Wales. Welsh patronymics may mean John had a brother called Harry Parry. Born just before civil registration started. Married Ellen Jones just after 1861 census in Llanwnda near Caernarfon. Had 3 children, youngest my grandmother. Both died within 2 weeks of each other in December 1868. So do not appear on any census as a married couple or a family. John insisted on visiting a cousin who was ill in a nearby village. John got illness and died, wife got it as well and died. My grandmother knew very little about her father, I think he was hated by the family as he had insisted on visiting the cousin in spite of everyone begging him not to go. Caused the death of Ellen and orphaning of the 3 little ones. Her parents had brought up 8 children and were now able to relax and enjoy their old age. All sorts of disruption occurred lin the family. One thing is that my grandmother always said she had German blood, in view of various stories in the family we feel it could have come from John, but I cannot find any trace of his birth to a John Parry in this area. There were a few large estates in the area so perhaps his Mother had been a governess etc. in one of those estates. Does anyone out there have any german ancestors who might be related to John Jones having married a John Parry in North Wales? I and a second cousin have been searching for over 20 years now. Any advice or information will be greatly appreciated. Megan, North Wales
