oh thats interesting, well she had children with william, there was a william 1901, richard 1905, john 1906 katherine and cissie 1908 jim 1912 and then ? joe 1913 althought my mum says that joe may not be williams she wasnt sure just remembers a joe robinson born 1913 died in a car accident age 33 she remembers him coz her nan used to call my mums brother joe, saying he looked like him?? then she said that sarah anne married her 2nd husband in 1918 she had fredrick in 1918 then sarah a 1920 margaret 1921 and then mary 1922 |

When were the children from the first marriage born? Well, really what I was wondering is when did they stop being born? Sarah is clearly fertile so if she wasn't producing children, William is either dead or not around any more. |

Well, they DO seem to have had a child called 'Sarah A' in 1920: |

I'm surprised about the lack of maiden name too. As you said, they usually show both. Wonder if she didn't say she had been married before, although I would have thought that was highly unlikely. |

You are quite right Janice - I too have checked on FreeBmd and viewed the image - It DOES say Sarah A. |

According to Lancs Bmd (which is usually quite reliable), It was a Sarah J (not Sarah Ann) who married James Dinwoodie! |

In the absence of anything else, I think I would order that birth cert with the father's name as a checking point. At least you would get some money back if it's not the right one. |

hi, sorrey for delay janice, just finished work!! ok im currently looking on cwgc website, have spoken to mum, she said her nanna always said he died in WW1, now his wife sarah ann re-married in 1918 to a james dimwoodie, now on the cwgc i found ( i think) the william h robinson you found in 1891 on it he died 1815 but he was married to a annie emily (i think thats what it says) so i dont think that is my one. i will keep u posted, it be nice if i had a birth so i could get birth certificate. |

If you can find him on CWGC, please let me know!! I spent a long time looking for him which is what prompted the question about forces/civilian death. |
