Hi there, I am trying to look for any information on a Mary Newbury and mother Annie (possible Ann Jane or Ann Newbury) as a cousin tried to contact us several years ago.

Mary was born Mary Newbury in Manchester, Lancashire on the
2 Nov 1922 at 68 Cobden street. Her mother was named as Annie on the Birth Certificate and worked as a packer at Kent Dealers? Her mother could possibly be one of the following:

Most probably from the 1911 census:

Ann Jane Newbury b.1901, sister of Leah Newbury b.1903, Frolie Newbury b.1893, and Alice b.1895. Ann's parents were James Newbury b.1873 and Mary Newbury b.1875. They lived at 5 Whitby Street, Manchester.

Alternatively 'Annie' the mother of Mary could be as in 1911 census:

Ann Newbury b.1881, wife of George Newbury b.1871. They had been married 10 years in 1911 and still had no children (which as you can imagine was unusual for that time). They lived at 119 Red Bank, Cheetham Hill, Manchester.

On the birth certificate of Mary born 2nd Nov 1922 the father is unfortunately classed as un-named. Mary died on the 16 Feb 1975 and never passed any information on about any of her relatives.

It would be wonderful to find out any information on Mary and Annie. If Ann Jane was her mother, Mary had Aunts and an Uncle and therefore cousins who I am told tried to contact the family years ago.

Any information no matter how small it may be would be highly appreciated. Thank you.
