have you thought of looking for Stooks - they are also kind of small haystacks

Unfortunately some are beyond help. BTW did anyone see post on History this am header says "Hi im looking for any info on my father and mother" thread was "Please can you help?" was tempted to reply father was male mother female. On a serious note back to Miss Haystack after spending first 18 years on a farm perhaps you should check into possible other children with the surname of Rick (there are numerous on freebmd) as ricks are small haystacks.

Can you please tell me where Shropshire is?

Altho i'm from the UK i've not stepped out of my front door for a good while, and i've become ignorant of the geography in my own country.

Now then the 1900's, is i do believe, 90 years long, any idea when in those 70 years your relative was born?

I assumed they died before they married?? or is it the classic case of being born 10 years after they died?....oh i do love numbers!

Now then any idea on names? what did your family think they were called? I do understand thats probably not what they are actually called....but we'll run with guess's for now....

I don’t seem to have many skeletons, just the usual syphilis, mental institutions and cousins marrying each other - one of them my mother!

And I can hear you saying 'so thats why she's nuts'. No, youre wrong, caus this cousin was her first husband who divorced her after finding her in bed with my dad to be! Sadly, dad hadnt managed to get the whole of his body out of the second floor window, when husband 1 entered the room......FIGHT!

I do have a tale of Christmas though. My mate in Geneva (she’s Swiss) has a new fella who's English. He's a top world leading gynaecologist, so you'd think.....this is a clever bloke yeah? NO

As she un wrapped her unusual shaped Christmas prezzy she was amazed, nay stunned to find it was....wait for it...wait....a SHOVEL!

I told her what to do with the SHOVEL and as it happens it came in very handy for the 6ft hole needed for the body.

So I guess there is a happy ending after all and the shovel proved very useful

So which came first the egg or the chicken? The shovel or the body? Let this be a lesson to all our men folk

Sadly this is a true story!

But mother told me why they didnt speak to each other much after the first 8 yrs of marriage,and why things were as they were.
Nans fault really,cant put it on here as its quite tummy turning really.

They were both as bad as each other ,but I think grandad got the last laugh.

....and i'd know exactly what i'd have done with him, put him with her and let him live eternity trying to explain himself!!

Nan and grandad only spoke to be polite and live under the same roof for the last 30 yearsof their marriage .

At one stage i was uncovering that many skeletons i was having to shove them in draws and boxes!!!

Isn't it awful when the things that mean so much to you even if worthless to someone else is destroyed? Having had home and business done over several times I know how you feel.

You are welcome to the "rally"that goes past my door twice a year at around 3 am.
But sorry to hear about the woes,hope they left you a little vody to see you through all the cleaning up.

Had it happen to me at a place I worked in Kings cross,no not that kind of work you BAD people.
I worked many years in betting shops,but the other prob would have paid better.
Mind you, maybe not with my Boat Race.

Although my grandad did say that you dont look at the mantlepiece when your poking the fire !
Also that if you werent in bed by 11pm you may as well go home.
My mother used to go up the wall at him for telling us impressionable kids things like that.
