What are the chances of trying to find out the details of a court case in Cork in the 1840's? Catherine Butler was 16, stole a counterpane and was sent to Van Demons Land for 7 years and never to return. I know most of the records went up in smoke in Dublin in 1922 but were there any records in Cork that survived. How would I find out? I believe she had a sister, was catholic but have no names of her parents that i am also trying to trace. Any thoughts or experiences?
