Stop being so self-absorbed. When I say "for ME", I mean FOR ME. Not your &*#%@ family -- MY families!!
Yeesh. We little Hitlers, we don't have any bloodpressure. Our blood is green, and very cold.

OK but something will turn up one day.
Janey has been checking out one of mine tonight too.
We have to keep her busy so she doesn't get worked up over rude timewasters, I think her bloodpressure is boiling right now.

JaneyC. Nobody needs to find this sort of stuff for you. It's already found. Do you know it has taken my nearly six months to work out how to keep the GR page open while I search on another site.
OK stop laughing. Let me tell you it was so aggravating to search one site then have to close it down and go back to GR because I'd forgotten the dob or name of the family and then have to shut GR down and ....well you get the picture.
At pinch I can have three thingies open at the same time.
And yes I have saved and printed all your tips about getting rid of the flashing stupidities on my screen. Hmmm must do that one day. Not to mention having several email accounts. Must look into that as well and then there's Firefox vs IE. Ha I need to get some more round tuits.
Edit: Not only is there no marriage for them UK side but I have a certificate which states they did not under any circumstances marry in NSW between 1900 nd 1919. Of course that still leaves 1919 to 1947 as a possibility which I have searched in NSW, QLD and Victoria without result. Hmmm wonder if they married in Tassie or WA. Might have gone on a cruise while CEC was "in the navy".

Shhhhh Christine not too loud. Janey might hear you. I'd like to think that too but in the absence of any documentary evidence it is doubtful.
I think that they were in such a hurry the little man at the registry office forgot to enter the marriage in his big book. One day someone will find a piece of paper with all the details hidden on a dusty shelf somewhere.
But nope that is not possible either because they just were not married by the time their fourth child was born. Weeeeeellll, I'm saying "their" fourth child. Sometimes I wonder!!!!!!!!!! Well CEC's name is not on the extract of birth certificate.
In about two weeks time I journey to the place where MIEK and CEC actually lived and brought up their children. Going over there for a family event but have factored a day's research time to do some visiting and look at Church Records and historical documents.

Why are you doing this to me?
Why have I spent fruuitless hours searching for this information and not found it?
Why am I so stupid? No, don't answer that!
Now I have to spend a few more hours writing this into my log book working out what fits.
And of course it all will fit, knowing your enviable skills WW.
And now I have to say thank you again, still, once more, ad infinitum!!
And in case you haven't worked it out (great gusts of laughter) George and Elizabeth are the direct line to Mariann Ivy Elizabeth Kimberley.

Only problem is the Herefordshire George Whitney Sr marriage is a submitted record.
GEORGE WHITNEY Spouse: CATHERINE DAVIES Family Marriage: 18 FEB 1794 >> Norton Canon, Hereford, England Batch Number: 8111934
However, it matches with a possible bride for George Jr:
ELIZABETH SOUTH Christening: 14 FEB 1797 >> Norton Canon, Hereford, England Father: JOHN SOUTH Mother: SARAH Batch No.: C016742

Okay now, I am not even going to try to figure out what's been going on here. But in my brilliant thread, you demanded an answer and I have given one, and belatedly expressed the hope you did not have a thread somewhere about it, and even more belatedly did a board search for George Whitney. He seems to be in this thread somewhere, so I'm going to copy it here.

Have a question for the bright one.
Fathers name: George Whitney dob c. 1768 (note approx) Mothers name: Catharine Child's name: George Whitney chr 1799
Question: Catharine's maiden name/parents
1841 census has Catharine living with George and George and others at Castle St, St Mary, Shropshire.
Estimate date of marriage for Catharine and George between 1796-1799
Options from IGI - two. (1) named Catherine the other (2) Catharine
1. GEORGE WHITNEY - International Genealogical Index / BI Gender: Male Marriage: 18 FEB 1794 Norton Canon, Hereford, England
2. GEORGE WHITNEY - International Genealogical Index / BI Gender: Male Marriage: 28 DEC 1799 Middlewich, Cheshire, England
I am not going to pre-empt your answer by making assumptions. Did wonder about the localities. Not sure I have correct George Senior and correct dob.
Options please before I spend more of my money on certificates which will be used to wallpaper the dunny.

In answer to "is it 1 or 2?" I say "purple". If there are two with the same names already, why not 3, or 7?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JaneyCanuck Today at 16:29
I revoke my answer. "Purple" is not correct.
In 1841, mother Catherine, and George and Elizabeth, are not born in county, i.e. in Shropshire (G&E's eldest child is).
1851
Name: George Whitney Age: 50 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1801 Relation: Head Spouse's name: Elizth - born Badenham, Herefordshire >> Where born: Weshbly, Herefordshire, England
Civil parish: Shrewsbury St Chad Town: Shrewsbury County/Island: Shropshire
So the Herefordshire one looks good.

You had better not have a thread going about this somewhere.
GEORGE WHITNEY Christening: 11 SEP 1799 Weobley, Hereford, England Father: GEORGE WHITNEY Mother: CATHARINE Batch No.: C139741
Only one in that batch with those parents.
GEORGE WHITNEY Spouse: ELIZABETH SOUTH Marriage: 12 MAY 1823 Stoke Prior, Hereford, England Batch No.: M137271
?

Hi Christine, I am actually not descended from the "entertainment lot". However I would imagine that some of the idiocy has rubbed off over the years. I have entered all the info you sourced into my tree in Ancestry. I have lots and lots of hints to deal with. Some will be consigned to the bin but others hmmmm. You did an absolutely wonderful job and it took me a whole weekend to transcribe all the data into my log book. I still have the last bit about Thomas Kimberley to sort out. I have a sneaking suspicion he might be a cousin but where he fits in I don't know.
It was lovely to fill in all of Mariann's family. Did you realize that in all of that we never actually found her under her correct name anywhere in England between 1884 and 1909.
If you read my last post on the Carter/Kimberly thread you will understand where Mariann fits into our lives. My OH and I discussed at length making the info public. It is the only way we are ever going to find out if he has any living relatives. The authorities over here won't allow us to search births before 100 years.
Once again thank you for all your help. That was quite an achievement.

Hi Christine, When I thought that MIEKs father's name was Joseph (before I got her birth certificate), I did a monumental search of everything Kimberley. This is one of the census/family groups I came across. There were lots and lots of Kimberley families living in the Birmingham area.
If they are connected to Alfred, Elizabeth MIEK, beatrice, florence and ada of that Kimberley family it needs to be through Alfred. Thomas and Alfred could well have been brothers, there is about 10 years between their dob. Then again they may well have been cousins through George. All of this I hope to sort out when I sit down with my large pile of papers and physically draw the trees, in my best writing, into an exercise book. And then write up the relationships/dates/events next to the trees.
I have learnt never, never to discount any information, and likewise never to accept any information until I have the source documents.
On looking at the names in that Kimberley group there are just too many similarities with The Kimberley family to dismiss it as not matching. One might argue that these were the popular names of the time, then again.....
Traced this Thomas Kimberley and Mary Ann back to the 1851 or was it 1861 census. Yep they're still there. ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Sleeping now!!
