I am trying to trace what happened to Doreen MATHAMS (born 1919 at Camberwell,Surrey) for whom I have a birth certificate with my Grandmother Dorothy Emma MATHAMS named as mother but no named father. I know that Dorothy MATHAMS had a child Audrey MATHAMS (1917 -1917) who died very soon after birth and again a father was not named. Dorothy Emma MATHAMS married my Grandfather Thomas LEVETT in January 1922.
At the moment I am assuming that Doreen MATHAMS was either adopted or perhaps brought up by someone else under another name. I have not as yet been able to check for Doreen MATHAMS marriages or deaths at the National Records Centre, but checking on available computer records has been unsucessful so far. Doreen MATHAMS as was Audrey MATHAMS appears to be a unique name on some records. Any help would be appreciated.
