minnie,i dont know what to say,im gobsmacked at all the info, isabella was unmarried but if the father died*(ww1 )then she wouldnt have been able to keep the child, this looks like my rellie, everything is falling into place(family rumour says that my grandfathers father went to war and promised isabella he would marry her when he came home but was killed, but nobody believed the story, everyone thought she was making it up because she was pregnant with a fatherless child.x |

on my granfathers birth cert his mothers name was ella mcdonald, ella i think was short for isabella,my nan says she was scottish, she was 17 when she had him in 1915 he was then adopted by a couple living in wavertree road, his birth mother reg him before she gave him away and she named him RONALD MCDONALD.he must have been named after her father.oh my god if this is right then ive spend hundreds of pounds barking up the wrong tree.x |
