Find Ancestors

Hello Jacqueline - just read your Help Line - can you help me please.
Am trying to find the married names of five Aunts of which I knew only with their First names, all nee Jones - i.e. May b.1887. Kate b.l888 Maud b.1894 Connie b.190l and Tot b.1901 - all born in Sheffield, Yorkshire.

Their father was Thomas Jones b.1863 at Bilston, Staffordshire,
and risiding at 192 Bright Streeet (Brightside Street) Attercliffe, Sheffield.

Would it be possible to do me a couple look up on the 1891 census and the 1901 census. Name: Emily Bryant born 1838 @ Edworth. Living in the biggleswade area. She was a widow on the 1881 census and her 3 children where living at home, names of mary E Bryant, Sarah Bryant & George Bryant.


Emily and Her husband Married Oct 1859 His name was Green Bryant do you think it is possible to find hem on the 1861 census.

Hello Jackie, I am hoping you might be able to help me. My Grandfather had a half Brother Peter Cross b1887 in Lancashire. My Mother is adamant that he had a Son Peter as well as a daughter Marion and brother Donald.
I found Peter [senior] married Alice Roper April/May 1915 in Burnley, Lancashire.
But can only find 4 Children born to them, Marion Cross 1919, Edmund A Cross 1922. Sydney J Cross and Donald Cross.1926.
Peter Cross[ Senior ]died in 1929.
According to my Mother Peter[ Junior ] served with the Fleet Air Arm during WW2. And that he Worked for De Haviland Aircraft prior to the War then again after the War.
Does Peter exist? or could the facts I Have about him in fact refer to his Brother Sydney.

Also trying to find Who his Sister Marion Married. She would have Married around 1937/ 1940 in Lancashire. I believe she married a Soldier who died in WW2. She had 2 children to him. Then following the War she married an American Serviceman and went back to America with him.

Any help in finding the Elusive Peter and his Sister Marion would be most appreciated. As I live in New Zealand am limited to researching on the net.

Nothing at all on Peter I'm afraid. You may well be right thinking it is Sydney. One thought, could he (Peter) have had a different mother?

In regards to Marion there are quite a few of similar ages and place. Do you have any idea of names and/or ages of her children. Or any idea to either of her husbands?

Many Thanks for looking for me Jackie. It was a long shot regarding Marion as I have no names or ages of the children.

This Family has been one Brickwall after another since I started researching them 10 years ago, every now and again I make a small break through and get all excited, then finish back up against another Wall.

It would seem that none of my English Cousins are interested in their Family Tree as have not come across anyone on this Site, or any where else for that matter who is researching this particular Cross Family.

Will shelf this lot, for now and go back to researching a more productive line of my Family.
