There are 2 Francis coming up on the Scottish 1901 census with Dad having the same name, but they were born in the 1880's

I have the marriage cert it has no middle name for Francis, his father has the same name and his profession is a farmer. Francis had two children Francis richard & Edwin Hickman one born Bromley Kent and one inCoventry he was in the army at the time of his marriage, its possible he could be scottish

Hi christine thanks for your reply. I have the marriage cert it has no middle name on this for Francis, His father has the same name and is a farmer. Francis was in the army at the time of marriage. He had two children francis richard, edwin hickman one born in bromley kent and one in coventry warwickshire.

The father of the one in Woolwich is also Francis. There is a large army barracks in Woolwich home of the Royal Horse Artillery and from the sound of his father;s occupation he may have worked at the Woolwich Arsenal) Just a guess)

The last one is looking like it ties in with the Francis Gordon born in Woolwich in 1894.

There are military records for a Francis Gordon from Barony, nr Glasgow
but he died in 1916 so he's not your guy.

What regiment was he in when he married? We might get some more info from military records if we can find them.
