Here's a Lucy Mace in Norfolk who could possibly be a sister:

Can't see her in 1901.

If the family did go to Durham, this could be her marriage:

but if so, she doesn't seem to be in Durham in 1911, unless she's not reporting her birthplace accurately.

Now that Lucy Mace in 1891 with the Atkinsons visiting is very interesting. Entirely possible they wouldn't have bothered reporting her place of birth accurately.

And they're in Gateshead district, so that's very probably the Lucy Mace who married there in 1904.

The Atkinsons seem to have visited to stay -- I didn't realize I was looking at 1901 and you had put the 1891 above.

There is no birth record for that Lucy and no marriage for Edward & Elizabeth. Let us hope they are red herrings.

The Gertrude Lilly I have been looking at as being 'our' Gertrude.

One wonders whether Gertrude was the one with the past.

The two grooms on the page are Ladbrooke and Leaman. There are no births after 1911 with either surname combination.

And there is no matching Gertrude Ladbrooke or Gertrude Leaman in the 1911, or death for either name 1904-1911.

On, no, crap. This will be her in 1911:

... but no, she's 10 years too old, and there are kids born starting in 1896 ... aargh. Aha, there they are in 1901 ... except the husband is Robert, aargh. Anyhow, the rest of the family is right, so the 1911 Lillie is *not* Gertrude Lillie Mace who married in 1904, who remains unaccounted for.

Other than if she's our Gertrude.
