im going round in circles no good at resurch no dates match up with names tried all cences even paid to look at 1911 please some kind person help
charles edward nelson dob 8/9/1908 he ran away from home about the age of 15 yrs father used to beat him
he told us he went to live with his friend and his family john atkinson durham somewhere
his birth cert says
father archiebold nelson mother gertrude nelson we think he also had a sister lucy or lou as he used to call her but not to sure hopesomeone can shine some light on this

Can't find a marriage of Archiebold/Archibald Nelson and Gertrude.

its a real mystery the only charles edward i could find was dob 1889 im beginning to wonder wether he changed his birth cert dob
story goes he went looking for work ended up in sheffield married winnie and before they got married winnie alted his name and put atkinson on the end of it reads charles edward nelson atkinson
maybe he was older than what he said we were always made to belive lucy was younger i really hope i can get to the bottom of it all

i couldnt find any connection at all to archibold and gertrude at all not in any cences but did find an archibold dob 1866 but married to a catherine maybe it was an affair im at my wits end im doing all this for my mother really wanted it to be streight forward find lost relations ect
any idears

Where does it say Charles Edward was born on his birth cert, also what was occupation of his father?

thankyou so very much for yor help just spoke to my mother to tell her we are thinking know that maybe gertrude and archibold were a fling and lucy with having jackson in her name was another fling going to look down the route of atkinson and jackson to see if she married
charles did tell us his dad did used to beat him wonder if it was jackson that did this your all great im going to try myself but if i need your help its nice that your all here thanx again xx

cant belive it i thought all of you that helped me in my last thread had hit the nail on the head but i need your help again my mother has found a copy of her fathers birth cert out we have taped it all back together and can hardly read it but on it it says
charles edward nelson also in brackets either bragey /brogley/rogley/really not to sure but the interesting thing is his father is down as william francis mother still gertrude
born looks like udhoe spennymoor.
