Trying to find background on George Edward Alexander Lamont allegedly born 16 February 1855 in Christchurch New Zealand and also his parents.

He allegedly lived in NZ for 20 years then moved to Melbourne Victoria. He married Johanna McNamara in Melbourne in 1886. His parents were supposed to be William Lamont and Sarah Sinclair. I have searched high and low for George and his parents thru the services of Professional Researchers but nothing has turned up either in New Zealand or even the UK.

I can trace George from 1884 in Melbourne. There was a suggestion his father William Lamont was a seafarer.

Any leads grafully accepted.
