Trying to find out any information about a John Ernest Pinkney, also know as Jack. He was probably born in 1908 in Stockton-0n-Tees and went to Bowesfield School and in 1920 won an open scholarship to Stockton Grammar School.
His parents could have been Ernest Pinkney and Emma Forrester.
In later life he wrote a book of poems called "The Glory of Stalingrad". He wrote his first poem in the book when he was 33 years old and was printed +/- 1943. At the time of publication he lived at 16 Winchester Road, Linthorpe, Middlesbrough and I know that he had at least one daughter.

I am in possesion of this book as it was given to my husband's grandmother from John Pinkney and she then passed it on to one of her sons.
Any information would be most grateful. There must be somebody out there who is a descendant of his.
