so sorry i wasent on line yesterday but my mum had a turn as this weather is really playing her breathing up
right i have several old photo's of walter and blew them up as big as i could and behold there is was his ring and little finger was missing, so this is enough info for me to belive this is the same family, he must have been married to both women at the same time, so far he has used WALTER A KING WALTER KING EDGAR WALTER KING WALTER EDGAR KING
Ihave now sent for his marriage cert for his marriage cer for Nellie, i have his m arriage cert to ESTHER and LYDIA but on all the cert i have his Fathers name has been THOMAS, and yes he may have just picked it out of the air, but there is a family where one of the Children was called JESSIE and Walters 1st chilld was EILEEN JESSIE, and my grandfather was THOMAS. its the nearest i have ever got to finding him. i will wait and see what this marriage cert shows.
i am so very sorry for the waist and disbelief i have felt about the info you have given me, but you must admit if this was your family you may have throught as me.
but thank you so very much for helping with my puzzel, i still have a long way to go, but at last i think i am now getting there, thanks to your kind help
my regards as always

I do hope you come back Kelly when you get that third marriage certificate - just to satisfy our curiosity! Let us know if his father's name and occupation are the same on it.
You right too, I don't think any or us would like to think that our Grandad was "a bit of a lad"! But then divorce was out of reach for most people at that time and he obviously did WANT to marry all three of these women.

Both in Lambeth, next borough to Camberwell.
Could these be Walter's as well?

Sorry,
Winifred born July quarter not June. It was the fact that the mmn was the same, same area and son called Walter E. He could have carried on seeing Nellie!

hi
thank you i would have thought it would have been the camberwell one but i have sent for there marriage cert so will let you all know. but yes i would think he did carry on seeing Nellie by the birth dates of the children he had, then will start work on just how many children he had, shudder to think, its such a shame that my uncle Harry died in march, he was so very interested in this tree and i used to share with him what i had found, Walters son William 1913 was married to a Winifred.
but thank you so very much for your time and hard work
my regards

Hi all,
well i received my Marriage cert for WALTER ALFRED KING.bachelor, Coachman, 4, Fernley rd camberwell, fathers name EDWARD MITCHELL KING
to NELLIE SOPIA THATCHER, Spinster 23, Reedham st, Peckham
Both aged 21yrs in 1911,
whit. G.H. HINDES. W.V.HINDES.
i dont know where my uncle got this paper from and now am unable to ask him. but one of the pictures i have of WALTER it does appear to have 2 fingers missing, but on his other marriage cert it says THOMAS KING one is General Dealer and the other Greengroser which i know to be true. as WALTER took over this business and my mum can remember her dad (THOMAS) saying him and his brother (WILLIAM) had to sell a cart load of veg before they had anything to eat and went to school. so now i think i am back to square one,

Edward Mitchell King does have a brother Thomas - so I wonder if Walter gave his father's name on one marriage and his uncle on the other!
1871

Nope, that Thomas doesn't have a son Walter either! And Thomas is an Armiture Winder!
Name: Thomas King Age: 36 Estimated birth year: abt 1865 Relation: Head Spouse's name: Ada M Gender: Male Where born: Dry Sandford, Berkshire, England Civil parish: Greenwich Ecclesiastical parish: St George County/Island: London Country: England Street Address:

Is it possible that both Edward and Thomas were his uncles and he was illegitimate and so gave an uncles name on his marriage?
Clutching at straws here............. the answer is probably staring us in the face!

Yes anything is possible, some years ago my uncle told my mum that Walter was born to an american lady who didnt want him so she gave him to a family, so thats why it would have fitted in with the older couple Thomas 1855 ish and Mary 1854, but anyone who holds the key is now passed on.
this KING family is a nightmare, they were always changing there names is WILLIAM was Wally, THOMAS was Harry, and Walter everyone called him Pops. the only one to keep her name was ROSE. even on my mum's birth cert it says Henry King instead of THOMAS HENRY
but thankyou so very much for your time..
my regards
