I am trying to trace a Hannah Marshall, born in Ranskill, Notts in 1873. I beleive she may have been my Grandfathers birth mother. I have her in 1891, staying with her aunt and uncle, Mark and Hannah Bird in East Retford along with her 6m old son, James. By 1901, she is apparently back in Ranskill as a housekeeper, James is not there but Mark and Hannah Bird have a 10 year old son, James. At that time, Hannah Bird is already 63 years old, I very much doubt that she could have produced a healthy first born at the age of 53. Does anybody recognise this name or know anything about this story?
