Hello again Andrea

You did a couple of lookups for me and I'd like to ask a question. On the first one you gave me the names of both the bride and the grooms fathers. How did you find this information on Emerald Ancestors.? I've since subscribed for 1 month but cannot find this information anywhere on there. Am I missing something?

Thanks
Maisy

Andrea

Thanks once again for the new information on Joseph McGranahan. I bought some credits on Irish family history but they're wasted if I get it wrong. With your help I've purchased the marriage cert for Joseph and he seems to have the same father as Isabella and also the witness is a Kernaghan so I think it's probably the right family. I probably need to check out a few more things but I feel very positive I'm on the right lines. I really appreciate all your help, your've been very kind.

Best wishes
Maisy

Hi Maisy
No you are not being cheeky ! I don't mind how many times you ask for a look up - I only hope I am able to help.
This is the only marriage for a Joseph :
Record Type Civil Marriage
Date of Marriage 16 Dec 1880
Groom Name joseph MCGRANAHAN
Bride Name ellen MCCLURG
Church Sinclair Seamens Presbyterian Church
Parish Shankill
Civil District Belfast
County Antrim

I know it's not the right year you were looking for but could be ANOTHER relative!
:)

I didn't think there would be many in Portaferry. Unfortunately, I don't have anything. My F-i-l was illegitamate so I don't have much to go on.

His name was Thomas Torney born 1920 so if you can find a baptism. That would be good.

We believe that his mother was Jeannie Torney, but thats it! As I said, I have nothing else to go on.

I appreciated your help. Thankyou.

Thanks for checking, Andrea. Unfortunately the Hunters were in England by 1865...very tricky lot! :-)

Andrea

I know I'm being cheeky but could I possibly ask another lookup please. You very kindly found me the marriage for Hugh Kernaghan and Isabella McGranahan. Would you be able to see if there is a marriage for Joseph McGranahan about 1850. I've been searching for this family for 3 years now and always thought the name was wrong. My gt grandfather was Isabella's brother and they have been so difficult to try and find. Thanks, Maisy
