Hi, please can anyone tell me if army records are available going back to c1890? and if so where should I apply to get the records of my great grandfather William John Ryan who came from County Clare, Ireland. I know he was a gunner in the Royal Artillery. He was based on Jersey from about 1889 until approx 1894. He died in 1914 before the 1st world war started. If there are army records available, which should i be looking for? Irish, English or Jersey? or are they all held by the same office? |
