Hi, My father Joseph Hickey, (nee John Cullen) was born 1904 to a Johanna Cullen, father unknown, at Ballycullane Wexford. He was fostered to Anastatia Hickey (nee Shea) who lived in Cross Lane New Ross Co Wexford, on the 1901 census Anastatia was living with her sister Margaret , son, John aged 7, Daughter Mary Ellen aged 1, My father left Ireland for England appx 1932, My father changed his name to Hickey by deed poll in respect of his foster Mother Anastastia, any morsel of information regarding either of the surnames would be most welcome as the above is all I have with regards to my Grandparents. |
