John Sweeney of Tipperary Ireland

I'm looking for the Irish history of John Sweeney born in Tipperary in about 1842, migrated to NSW in about 1862 and married Maria Crowley in Mudgee. He died in 1872 after being accidentally killed by a dray and left 3 children - Edward, John Patrick and Jeremiah (my great-grandfather). John Senior's parents were listed as Edward Sweney and Margaret Brennan on his death certificate.

Given how hard it is to locate Irish information, I was hoping someone knows something about his family in Ireland. I'm assuming his parents did not emigrate to Australia with him as I can't find them on a shipping list but have found some John Sweeneys of the right age.

A long shot, I know.

Thanks
Shelley
