I have been going through my threads and seem to have misplaced one for an

Albert Turnbull D.O.B 1881 Darwen, there was information about his Military Time, I did purchase the information as well but that has disappeared as well. Any ideas where it could of gone.

According to Robert's army service records, this is Florence's death which gives her the middle name of May which might help:

She died of Pneumonia on 21st March, 1915

Her son Robert died 6 months later - also aged 6 months so she must have given birth to him soon before she died.

He died on 26th August, 1915 of Epidemic Enteritis at the home of his Aunt, Hannah, who must have been looking after him.

Different Topic same surname

I have a Robert Clarkson D.O.B 1888 Preston whom Married a Florence Ainsworth on 25th September 1910 in Preston. Records state Florence Ainsworth Parent was a John Stead. Cannot find a birth record for Florence so a tad confused.

Why not simply invest in one of the birth certs.........and get factual info about Jane?

I'm afraid I don't know anything about GR records..........I would never contemplate using them

I used to check all records straight from genes reunited site itself but now I don't because of all the updates it has got a whole lot more complicated

I usually go onto Lancashirebmd or Ukbmd, it is difficult at times cross referencing D.O.B and maiden surnames of the the Mother. I also use the online church projects. That is why I have got totally confused. Getting the Maiden name wrong for the children's mum will possibly make other records wrong.

In the years that you have been researching this.......where have you looked for birth info?

Before 1875, there were no penalties for not registering births, so the father's birth may simply never have been registered

I thought at first that this was the correct record for 1871 but then Louisa has 2 children in 1881 living with her William age 9 and John age 6 and says Married but husband not there on either.

I wonder if Thomas & Jane never actually married - I can't find a death for Louisa & she is living with her sister and brother-in-law in 1881 &1891
