has anyone went to edinburgh national archives

I know when adopted parents apply for and adoption order to adopt a child, they can either prevent their identity being disclosed in the adoption petition and are given a file number,
but if they dont request this, is court record accessible to read of the petitioners intent to adopt, in court records held in edinburgh.
