Thomson family from Borders area ( Roxburgh)?

I am searching for information relating to a John Watson Thomson born 31st May 1896 in Roxburgh Nr Kelso. Married Dorothy Annie Robins

John's Father is Robert Thomson Born 1866 and Died 1942 - Married Alison Sandlines then married Alison Scott Born 1869.

John's Grandfather is also a Robert Thomson born 1834/35 who married a Euphemia McLeish (1834/5)

John's Grt-Grt Grandfather was Thomas Thomson who married a Jane Gall

I have found the headstone of John Watson Thomson and it details he died 15th Oct 1981 - but I can't seem to find an official record of his death.
