hi kirsty here are the details that l can read ! william burgess aged 25 married margaret curry aged 19 on 2nd oct 1902 looks like william was a miner. residence at time of marriage bales cottages? fathers name alex dec profession fisherman,margarets father was called thomas curry looks like miner,witnesses john curry and looks like annie glendining.

Oooh, thats sound scary - does that mean they died around the same time??

I will defo order a death cert and see where that leads me.

Also this would have been the year before Ivo was born ... interesting.

Cheers for finding that out for me - as they Kids are the same he must have used the name Francis instead of his first name - they must be the same.

I dont suppose you had any luck in 1901 did you, I have got totally stuck there!

Just remebered, the original family rumour is that Ivo was from Ireland, which I now know is not true. But it could be that they were in ireland in 1901?? I wouldn't even know where to start there - did they do censuses??

If not will just have to qiat till next year to see if they pop up in 1911 census!

Hi Mad mum of 4,

I am a mad mum of 1 but could really use your help with a mystery that is really bugging me.

My G.Grandad was Ivo Kerry dob 1893 - dod 1947. He was born/died in headington Oxford and married an Elsie May Ward in 1917.

I ordered his birth cert, which shows his Dad as a William Kerry (professional Crickter) and mum as Alice Kerry (nee Hall).

The only marraige that could be found for them was in 1876 in oxford him as William Francis Kerry ( Dad Richard Kerry) and Alice Ann Hall (dad Francis Hall).

What I am looking for is them in census records, I think I have found them in 1881 him down as Francis H? - but he is not a professional cricketer.

However they all dissappear in 1901 census records.

My great uncle says Ivo had a brother, but only know him as Colonel Kerry!

Any info whatsoever would be so much appreciated.

The witnesses are thomas mark and M. Eidwood/gridwood?? (not sure what it says) doubt that will be helpful... its frustrating as I have the original marriage certificate and yet cant even get so far as to find her aged 7, or her parents...

i dont know if any of those will be them either to be honest is it possible that one or both of her parents were deceased when she was married and this just wasnt mentioned on the marriage certificate?
