he died October 1928, he had dodgy past and his death was registered
under two names.....born 1877, Bath

You won't be bored after reading this request, my gg grandfather was born in 1827 and came from Woodford in Gloucestershire, but may not have been born in Woodford, however he is clearly shown in the 1841 census for the Tithing of Hinton in the Township of Berkeley, Gloucestershire. Ref; HO 107 /347 /8. His name was Anthoney Trotman and is only 14 years old in the census and is working as a servant at the house of Elizabeth Browning, the address is Halmore, not sure if this is the house name. How can I find out who his parents were, assuming that they had lived in that area for a number of years? He is not found in the 1851 census as he may have disappeared or even died. He was a Stockbroker/accountant in Bath. some very important Bathonians lost a lot of money.he fled to London,did the same under different name, i found inquest for him ,he.d thrown himself in the Thames
night before he was to be arrested...have a contact in Bath who needed
death reg.s to look at newspapers in Bath.Funny how he was reg under both names, they are the same man,as its mentioned at the inquest......and that me dear is me ggrandfather! thanks so much Kirsty.

Wow lucky you to have a story like that in your tree!

The most exciting story I have is that my 2x Gt Grandfather got drunk on the morning of his wedding fell asleep on the train and ended up 100 miles away!.. you would have thought that my 2x Gt Gran would have learnt something from that morning but she went on to marry her and on their honeymoon (to the coast) he took her to all his old Navy haunts left her sat outside the pubs with half a pork pie while he got drunk!!!

Could I ask you to find out something on my side of the family please? My great grandmother - Gertrude Florence Morgan - born Feb 1897 in Colchester Barracks. Found in birth records and 1901 Census - Mother Amy age 34, siblings Herbert (5), Gladys (2) and Percy (7), living in Norwich, Norfolk at time of census. Amy stated as married and living 'on own means' but no sign of my great great grandfather living with them. I know he was a military man, as thats how my great grandmother came to be living in the barracks. I have no idea what his name was and no idea what Amy's maiden name was.

Kirsty,thankyou so much,you;ve confirmed my findings.....
Sarah married Walter no 1 he dies June 1897,,,six months later she marries
Walter no 2 ,Sarah then dies 1905.....

1911 census shows ....Walter no 2 has remarried and living in Brampton
with wife Harriet and HER kids, at the same time Sarah Jnr from sarah,s 1st marriage to Walter no 1 is 24. head of house,single .17 lodgers,and is caring for Walter no 2.s kids(step siblings)no wonder i can't find a marriage for the poor girl,
