The 1901 i listed was correct according to the info you gave me.You mentioned he was a bus conductor and the 1 i found was and was born in York.I will look at the 1891 for you though and look for 1881-2 birthyear.

oops thanks for your effort but I think its the wrong William Morton - he was definetly born York 1881 but it could according to 1891 census be 1882 as his age is 9. There are a couple of other William Mortons showing York as birthplace - can you look them up for me please. I have been trying to find my great uncles descendants for about 2 years

Can't see him on the 1841 at moment but think i may have found his wifes death.Not 100% though.I believe Ann could have been born late 1845.Only way to make certain re the mother is to get the birth cert for 1 of their children.At least you know Ann is called Ann Jaques though!So hope that has helped?

Well Robert was listed on the 1871 as a Widow!!with a child aged 2 months???I think its poss he was already with Ann at this point and the child was hers.
