I think Maria 1834 may have died as a baby,no christening record and no death on the BMD so she must have died before 1837.

I would be grateful if you could look on any pre 1881 census for
Rosetta Jane Payne, born 1858 in High Wycombe Bucks.

On the 1881 she is listed as unmarried and living with a Charles Taylor as a Daur law - whatever that is!!

She marries Walter West in 1883 and I have her death but know little of her early life. Many thanks.

Thanks for the Wade census look ups (p97/98). Now had a chance to look at it more closely - in between keeping daughter amused during half term & decorating the living room. Can I now ask if you could try to find Samuel & Hannah on the 1841 census. I have been looking on Family Search and it looks like they may have had 3 more daughters. Maria b 1834 - think she died very young as there is another Maria b 1840 & Ellen b 1835. Would like to see if Maria & Ellen are listed so I can confirm they are their daughters.
If you can see them on 1841, can you try to find them on 1851 - can find no record of their deaths on Family Search or Free BDM - hoping they are visting other family.
Now for the long shot - can you see if you can find George Witheat Wade (Samuel's father) or Anne(a) Wade on 1841. Don't know where either was born or their DOB. George I would think was born c1775. His first daughter Sarah was born 1795. Anne(a) is his second wife, he remarried in 1812 following the death of 1st wife. Not even sure if they would still be alive but have found nothing on Family Search or Free BDM

I did see a 1847 Ann living in Tynemouth reg area on the 1861.

Now looking at the 1851-61 i don't see any matches to the info that William put on his 1st census records...1871-1881.This is not unusual.Parents would have done previous records and when William did them he may have thought of the last place he had lived as home rather than where he was born.People did not take the notice we do today of birthplaces.We know where we were born but in those days they didn't always.

There is the other poss that William's mother had remarried and William was going by her surname in the 1851-61.Maybe his father had died soon after his birth?William then may have reverted to his Wales surname after he left home.

Might be an idea to get the cert of 1869?See what father's name was and if he was deceased?
