I was sure they were ours but Privett researcher not!

Sarah Jane is ours - she is on her own in 1891 then as her mother and sisters have predeceased her. Possibly still in Fareham. I will have another hunt just in case - yet again but will let you know. I do not know how you manage to find people when all else fails, You are a clever girl.

Thanks for trying to find my Thomson family.I doubt it's the same one though-Old Monkland would be inside Glasgow and quite far away from Pettinain where both were supposed to have been born.Perhaps they emigrated if not to be found on any of the censuses.

This Thomas McSorley was my great gandfather, he was born on 14th June 1862 in Bolton and died on 20th August 1901 in Wigan.

On the 1881 record he's living with his aunt [married name Baxendon] and his siter in Wigan, the name is spelt McSirley.

On the 1901 record he is living at 77 Warrington Road, Ince, Wigan with his wife Rachel and his kids, including my grandfather Peter McSorley.

I know he was living at 77 Warrington Road in 1891 but cannot find the record. Regarding the 1871 record he may be in Bolton or Wigan. His father died in 1871 and his mother was already dead so he may have moved to Wigan where most of his relations were living.

Can i have Thomas's birth details please?you mentioned the 1827 one but you listed he died 1871?so just checking as you mentioned you had him in the 1901 census which Thomas Mcsorley you require?

Sorry with only 1 census 1861 to work off i can't be certain who the parents are.You will need to get the marriage cert and with her father's name she will be easier to find.

The problem is their are Anne's and Annie's with the same surname and Yorkshire birthplaces and as the marriage record as a mistranscript of her 1 st name makes it tricky.
