	Angus This is the 2nd option although there are other John Watson possibles not living in Irvine. As he was born Irvine is doesn't mean by the 1841 he would still be there. 	HI Michelle Wondered if you would be able to help me with a new census search, for the 1881, 1891 and 1901 census. For Samuel Stone born 1876 Stanley common, Derbyshire. I know at some point he moved to heanor and he married a Harriet Gillot and then a Elizabeth canlin (nee spencer). Samuel and his first wife had 4 children names Elsie, Charles E, Harry and Eva but i am struggling to find their births my grandmother belives they where born between 1901 and 1909 @ heanor but says the births would be registered at Basford. I really hope that you can help me. thanks Emily

	Hi Michelle, because I hadn't been able to identify the right children in the right place at the right time! I have had another look and have now found births on FreeBMD of Mary Ann 1852 and John 1853 in Brighton, so I could send for one of those. But no trace of any of the others - wonder if the census listed their birth places wrongly. IGI has James Peter Penfold christened Ardingly 28 July 1850, parents John Penfold and Eleanor. Hmmm. Looks like James born out of wedlock. This was a family I filled in on my tree quite early on and committed the cardinal sin of not noting where/who I got the info from! Hmmm again! I have his wedding cert 1872 to a Mary Ann Clark on this his father is listed also as Samuel Lines. I also have the list of his children. I cannot seem to trace his birth or connect him to his father or know who is mother is or if infact he had any siblings any help appreciated Thanks Rachel

	Linda Can i ask why you haven't got the birth cert of 1 of the children to see mother's maiden name? There are 2 or 3 marriage showing on the marriage records with spose missing...i am wondering if 1 of these is your John's wife. I am also wondering whether the eldest son James was Eleanors son?He was listed as born 1849 on the census...the census records aren't also spot on with ages so its possible it could be out.If it is correct John is listed as single living at home in 1851. I have been working on yours and i am still working at present on it.So check back later to see whether i have had any luck. Michelle

	Hi Michelle Yes the boys are with their mother and 2 sister's on the 61 in Sedgley Surname transcribed as Pauntney Hannah aged 61 widow Sarah aged 18 Phobe aged 16 William aged 13 Daniel aged 8 This is where the Daniel comes in. l don't know if David died or left home or if it is the right family! l posted a look up request and it is what freewheel gave me in the reply. I have the following who appear in the 1881, living at 3 Belvidere Street , Aberdeen GRO vol 168-2 32 31 , John Watson 48 yrs Margaret Watson 44 yrs. living with children Margaret 21yrs,John 19yrs,Helena 17 yrs, Janet 16 yrs,James 14yrs,Agnes 11yrs and David 6 yrs. I believe that John married Margret Collie cica 1857. Could you look forward and backwards in the census to see if you can find them. I am particularily interested in John snr. and links back to his birth place of IRVINE.Thanks Angus.

	Hi Michelle, I have a brick wall, in that I can't find two marriages on either IGI or FreeBMD. John Penfold (1824-1907 Patcham, Brighton, variously described as cordwainer, shoemaker or bootmaker) In 1851 John was 27, unmarried, still living with parents James and Fanny. First wife Eleanor, born c1826 Brighton appears on 1861 census, age 35, occupation shoebinder, with children James 12, Mary 9, John 8, Eliza 6, Sarah Ann (my great grandmother) 4, Rosina 2 and Alfred 4 months. 1871, still in Brighton, John aged 47, bootmaker, wife Jane 41, children Sarah A 14, Alice 8, Annie L 3 and Frederick 1. Someone else's tree had Jane as Jane Elliott, born Brighton 1831, died 1901. But I can't find either marriage and can't find Eleanor's maiden name. If you can get through my brick wall I'd be ever so grateful! Thanks. Linda
