Hi Michelle,
me again. I hope you don't mind and i know it's a long shot, but do you think you could give the 1871 Census a try for Bethany/Bathany Roland. She married Richard Faulkner in 1878 so i'm hoping she is with parents in 71.Bethany is an unusual name. She had a sister born the same day Elizabeth, but i don't know if she survived.
Bethany would be about 14 in 71.
many thanks
Cathie

Hello Michelle

Don't worry about wasting your time trawling records, I didn't really think about how long it would take you! I bit the bullet and looked through year to year and came up with a few names to start with.

Thank you so much anyway

Ok I understand, thank you anyway, I would be grateful if you get the time. Apparently their first child was called Valerie and another called Paula after my mother but that is all I know. I tried looking for Valerie first and found one in 1955, same area, same mothers maiden name. Without the birth cert though I am obviously not sure. Violet married John when she was 17 and apparently they were pushed into it. Also Violet and John attended an approved school so assuming she had a child very young is not out of the question. Im told there were six children.

Ooh i wish i was the font of all Knowledge!lol!

Ok this is a huge search and i don't normally do late BMD's my area is Census and before and BMD's up to 1920.Mainly this is because the site i use has BMD's transcribed up to 1920 and then indexed after that, which means searching quarter by quarter and year by year.Which takes ages without 1st names.
I will take a look for you but i haven't lots of time to spare on this as i have a busy thread.Could you clarify something 1st though. They married in 1959 and you wrote 1st child was 1955?or was this supposed to be 1966?Any other info on the children?
