Reason i ask is it states 1822 birthyear and not 1832?Although the census image could be 29 years old writing is not very clear.

I just wondered why you thought she had been married before?Is sometimes mentioned on the birth cert previously known as...but only McGrale mentioned?Early BMD did not always show all known names as.

I do think you will need the marriage cert for these two.To get ages and father's names.They could both be from Ireland or Catherine could be from Scotland?There are possibles for them on the records for 1851 but without ages i would not being able to say which is the right ones.

That certainly looks like him. He married in 1862 in Streatham so would probably be in lodgings prior to that.

It's me again. Hope you don't mind doing another look up for me. This is for any info about Edmund D'arcy (c1825) and his wife Margaret (1821)
I have found them and their children (including their daughter Margaret c184) my ancestor) on the 1861 and it says they were born in Cork, Ireland.but can't find them on any later census.

Any info very gratefully received.

Henry age full Sarah age full. Henry's occupation Coachman.

Hi Michelle
I wonder if you could find out anything in your census searches about Abert William Woods, (my grandfather) he died in 1941 aged 47 so probably born 1894? The only details I have are that the place of death was 309 Park Cottages, Barston, Hampton in Arden. I have a copy of his death certificate, he was with my grandmother Dorothy Knowles (can't find a record of any marriage) but that wasn't until long after the 1920's.
I've no idea where he was born, I do know he was a reserve policeman in Solihull but thats all I'm afraid.

Its Margaret (C1846) Edward (C1852 james (c1854), Thomas (c1856) and John V (c1861)

They are at 15 Archer St (St James Westminster, Berwick St) London. It's Soho and Edward is a bootmaker which fits with the marriage cert I have of Margaret (daughter) who married Richard Bulter in June 1873

Unsure re this 1???I looked through the children and looked 1st at John the 2 month old from the 1861 and noticed a 1881 poss for him with parents Edmund and Johanna....??Johanna is not the mother and i can show you that on a previous census.John at mo is not showing on the 1871 so my little mind has been thinking...i wonder if Margaret took him to Ireland for a visit?I also wonder if she died over there??Well this is if this is the correct 1881.The surname is so mistranscibed at times makes it hard to know for sure whether their is a death for her.The 1881 lists Edmund as County Clare though.I will post it and see what you think.

1871 lists birthyear for Edmund as 1831 aged 40,i have checked the image and i think it should read 1825 and aged 46.Now note a cousin Johanna....unmarried from the same place as the Johanna wife on the 1881 also birthyear is the same?!!None of the children from the 1861 present??We see a poss John D'arcy on the 1881 the other children from the 1861 would have been at an age to leave home.Or were they with Margaret in Ireland visiting???Maybe that's why the cousin is there to help with the children?On the image name spelt D'arcy not Darcy.

There only seems to be 1 child to this couple?A Derek in 1941 i presume your father?Born in Solihull.

I can't see a marriage yet but your Grandmother may have been married before?Do you know when she died?or her birthyear?Albert could have been born anyway and birthyears on death certs are not always accurate sadly.I will see if i can find anything else.

Unfortunately Catherine Laughlin (Mcgrale) died in 1860 so she is not on 1861 census with her husband Patrick/Peter, he is born about 1827 in Ireland and he remarried in 1862 to Margaret Clifford. I cannot seem to find anything on 1841 or 1851 for either Catherine or Patrick/Peter. Does this mean I need to send off for marriage certificate? Thanks for your help so far.
