Many thanks! This must be the same Emma: daughter of Thomas and Sarah. She had a son with Charles Bate(s) in March 1836 and married him in Dec of that year – I can certainly check with the Staffs people – but fair enough!
I think I can forget Heber and Sarah Perry and their descendants as being another family.

I have been puzzling over the data you sent and still seem to have a problem with two Sarah's. You only find one Sophia – the 1799 one born to Thomas 1764 and Mary c. 1764 (these must have about the same birth year, their first child born Sarah 1785). But we also have the Sophia ca. 1801 daughter of Thomas and Sarah. If I assume it is the same Sophia, then I have a possible problem still, same daughter – different parents! Possibly misprints or misreads?

By the way, if I check the IGI tables then I get the children of Thomas and Mary:
Sarah (1) born 1785
Anne 1787 died 1788
Elizth 1789 died 1798
Hannah 1791
Mary 1793
Henry 1795 (only son)
Sarah (2) christened 1797
Sophia 1799.
For some reason (probably religion ?) it seems that Sarah was only christened in 1797.

If Sarah (daughter of Thomas and Mary) is mother of Sarah (1816) (her possibly illegitimate daughter) then this cannot be the same one who married Thomas (born c.1770) with the children of the marriage you list. Sarah would come between Joseph 1811 and Emma 1819.

I think we have a Thomas missing, or there is a re-marriage somewhere in all this, am not sure how to go after this at the moment.

My best advise with this is what i mentioned before you need to look at the source-the Brewood Parish Records.The county record offices are normally v.helpful and you have the info of Emma her birthyear,mother's name and her marriage and 1st child.So you are in a good position and you just need the icing on the cake parent info.2 trees on Ancestry have Emma's parents as Sarah and Thomas.How they obtained this info??Maybe parish records?
Good luck Anthony and once you have spoken to them let me know if you have any conclusions.

Also work 1 step at a time.Start 1st with Emma and then think about her parents and the Grandparents.You can end up in a muddle if you take on too much at once.

Oh and i also agree re Heber-no connection.
