Hi Michelle, this all seems to be fitting in nicely, have you managed to find robert in the 1901, have checked my records and robert was in the army from 1894 to 1904, but he deserted !!!!!!! 1902 to 1904, so he recieved no pay for that time, so his records say. lol

The 1901 no sign of Robert so far if he was in the army he may well have been away at the Boar War which was around the turn of the century. Will take another look though.

Shaw and Crompton are situated on the Lancashire Yorkshire border, Currently the locals refer to the area as Shaw in contrast to former times when it was generally known as Crompton . At one time going to Shaw was synonymous with going to church as there was not much else there.

The fact that Arthur was born 1881 makes me think he must have been married before? No children till 1922???Means maybe that Daisy was younger than Arthur.Have you a birthyear for her?have noticed a couple of possibles for her on the census records. Also for Arthur shame there is no other info?I will take a further look and let me know what you have on Daisy. As yet no marriage showing. The occupation you listed when was he known to be doing this?

Hi Michelle Yes I did think that maybe he was already married before and possible never married Daisy although on his death cert it states her as Hammond and also on Eileens birth cert it states her as Hammond nee Eustace. I have Diasy's family back quite a way and Eileen said that her dad was a lot older than her mum possible 12 - 14 years older. She thinks she remembers that he was in the navy but cannot remember anything about his mum or dad which again makes me wonder if he went off with Daisy if they had nothing to do with him. Daisy was born in 1892 to Lawrence Eustace and Emily she had brothers Roland, Bernard and Kyrle and Sisters we think Eileen and Iris.
I have got back to 1801 to Thomas Eustace on that side of the family but just totally stuck with Arthur.
Eileen did mention today when I spoke to her that when her father died her sister said that they received a letter from the Brighton area but not sure if thats connected, I will probable have to wait until the 1911 census and see if I can pick him up there but dont hold much hope.
I live in Spain so its difficult to actually go and look at parish records etc.
Thanks for your help in looking for me but I think its probably a brick wall !!!!!
King Regards Kim

Hi Michelle
I think I like the Rhoda Hammond better because they moved to London which in the Battersea area Arthur ended up working in London and Eileen remembers her mums family around the Battersea area so that sounds a bit better. Also on his death cert states he died aged 54 on 17-08-35 so it looks more like 1881 if born before August or 1880 I assume if after August I will have a look and see if I can find both the births for these to see if I can marry it up
Thanks again Kim
