Well they lived at 42 Cromwell Street on the baptism record - they are not there in 1901 however. I've found 4 Thomas Cooks living in Aston Manor on the 1901 census and none are him. Electoral lists in that period are scarce too. The 1911 census may hold the answer - I'll be looking to see where the Hunts were living too as I have a huge gap between 1906 and 1919. They were living in Oxygen Street for a number of years. |

On the baptism record, Thomas Cook Snr is listed as being a tube drawer (extruding pipes I think). |

Janice, Ellen Rose Cook was the first born as far as I know. There may have been miscarriages but there was never a James Cook. All births of aunts and uncles are in the family bible. The first son was called Thomas John William Cook (1928-1929). By the way, how did you know my grans maiden name was Hunt? |

Thats her - I know, no next of kin mentioned on her death certificate. Her name is on a memorial for civilian victims in the Bull Ring. |

If the one above is Esther and Thomas' child then you will need to look again for your Thomas .Is the dob you have, been given to you from family members or the date you have got from the baptism? There is also a marriage for an Esther Cook in 1900 so i wonder if her Thomas died and she is married again that is why she is not on the census in 1901 as Cook |

The Leah death certificate showed a wrong informant - a daughter by the name of Walker. Leah had 2 daughters - Rose who married Arthur Woolley and Esther - who was killed in an airraid in 1942. |
