Hello Margaret

Thankyou for offering to do these lookups. That is very kind of you.

I am looking for the baptism of my GG Grandad JOHN PRINCE. He was born in Witney 15/12/1851. He took his mothers surname. I have his birth cert and no father is given. I am hoping a father will be named on his baptism record.

Thankyou in advance.

Regards Paul

LEE IN OZ

William Reynolds married Susanna Bathe 16/9/1828 Piddington by Banns
Susanna was buried 11/5/1758 ie Susannah wife of William on Register.

they had
John baptised 23/8/1729 Pi8ddington
Elizabeth 23/4/1739 as above
Vincent 25/4/1742 as above who married Elizabeth Barret Piddington 13/10/1823

William Reynolds married Elizabeth Chappell of Hardwick Bucks in Bicester 6/5/1718

they had
Mary Baptised 24/5/1719 Piddington
William 11/2/1721
John 31/1/1724
Elizabeth 5/6/1731 buried 20/11/1733 Piddington
Jane 7/4/1733
Thomas 25/4/1736 who married Mary and had Thomas baptised 19/5/1762 buried 11/4/1768 and William baptised 3/10/1763 also others probably.

You will see that both sets of parents named children John and Elizabeth. There are burials of John Reynolds in Piddington 9/5/1728
Elizabeth Reynolds bur 28/4/1728 Piddington

There is only one burial for a William Reynolds in Piddington it being 13/1/1766 but which William it is I have not the faintest idea.

I cannot find a burial for Elizabeth nee Chappell Reynolds from Hardwick Bucks, I have looked for a remarriage after 13/1/1766 when one William Reynolds was buried but cannot find one.

There is no record of a marriage for John Reynolds and Elizabeth buried in Piddington as above on the Oxfordshire marriage disc.

So here we have it, two William Reynolds breeding at the same time, perhaps cousins as they both name children John and Elizabeth, with the mutual John and Elizabeth not married in Oxfordshire.

What a muddle. Margaret.

SHEMP

Thomas Franklin of Westbury Buckinghamshire who made his mark, a servant, married in Mixbury Mary Gibbs who made her mark, a spinster, of this parish. by Banns
16/8/1789 witnesses John Fenemore Ann Bellam

They had

Thomas Franklin baptised 10/1/1802 Mixbury.

Who married in Mixbury

Thomas Franklin who made his mark, of Westbury Buckinghamshire married Catharine Blinco who made her mark of this parish 26/12/1814 witnesses Thomas Morris and Henry Blinco they married by Banns.
Catharine was baptised 21/4/1793 Mixbury daughter of William and Elizabeth Blinco.

So it appears that the Thomas Franklin you are looking for that appears on the 1841 census married to Catharine was baptised 101/1802 Mixbury but his parish of settlement through his father who was a servant was Westbury Buckinghamshire.

Hope this is of interest Margaret.

LEE IN OZ

There are children being baptised at the same time to William Reynolds and Elizabeth and also to William Reynolds and Susannah, so probably not the same William Reynolds... Do you want the baptisms of the children from Piddington? it would make things more clear for you, if I did both sets of parents. Margaret.

Hi Margaret,

If you don't mind me asking again about some of the Reynolds family, i was just wondering if you wouldn't mind seeing if William Reynolds who married Elizabeth Chappell in 1718 had a 2nd marriage to a Susannah Bathe?

Kind Regards

would like her surname if possible.
Also would like the birth dates if you can.
