CHRISTINE
Sorry no further batisms for William and Susan Lovegrove in St Thomas Oxford nor for the Wm Lovegrove/Woodley child
I have looked in all the parishes in Headington that have marriages in 1915, many do not, and cannot find a marriage for Thomas F Lovegrove to Constance M Coombs.
Better Luck next time.

If you could give me any information about the marriage of my Gr Gr Grandparents. They were Joseph Hinson b. 1.3.1811 m. Elizabeth Mutton on 24.1.1834, at Chatteris Church. If you are able to find anything about their predescessors, I would be very grateful.

Hi Margaret,

Many thanks for all the info.
How odd! Beatrice Nellie baptised twice, maybe she wanted to be baptised because baby Annie was being baptised, so they let her.
There seems to be a bit of a gap (1889-1895) between childrens baptisms for this family and I am wondering if maybe there were some more children between these years born and baptised in another parish. William Lovegrove did have family in the parish of St Thomas so can I please ask you to check and see if there are any baptisms for chilldren of William & Susan Lovegrove in St Thomas between 1889-1895 and also if William Lovegrove/ Woodley's born 1885 was baptised in this parish.

Also would it also be possible to look for a marriage for a Thomas F Lovegrove and Constance M Coombs in 1915 in the Headington Area and if so would it be possible to let me know the father's names and witnesses names?
Many thanks

Christine.

LORDOFKENT

There is a marriage in Ducklington
William Lord married Elizabeth Baldwin 27/10/1805
by Banns
William was a sojourner,
witnesses Elizabeth Badcock, Thomas Butcher

There is a baptism for a William Lord in Ducklington
26/12/1779 son of John and Elizabeth Lord.

This may be the correct baptism for your William, who was buried in Handborough 18/2/1850 aged 72 yrs, therefore born circa 1778

Hope this helps.

Thanks that's great!
Please can I ask, were there any other baptisms for children of William & Susan Lovegrove between 1888-1895 in both parishes?

Hi Margaret can you help me find a marriage please?

I have Jane Lord - Christened 23 May 1808 St Peter & St Paul, Handborough, Oxfordshire, England

Her parents were William Lord b c1788 location not known but possibly Oxfordshire, and Elizabeth ? b c1776 location not known.

Any info regarding this marriage would be very helpful as this has now become a sticking point.

Sorry about lack of more info, I have already had a lot of help from Elizabeth while you were absent.

Hello Margaret

Thank you for your offer.

My husband's great x 2 grandfather, Richard Pearce married Ann Maria Harris in London in 1849. According to their marriage certificate her father was William Harris, a labourer. The certificate just says she is of full age.

Cenuses show Ann Maria (sometimes Maria Eliza) as coming from what appears to be Coate in Oxfordshire although the image is not very clear.
1861 Class: RG9; Piece: 280; Folio: 1; Page: 4; GSU roll: 542606.
1871 Class: RG10; Piece: 537; Folio: 60; Page: 3; GSU roll: 823389.
These put her year of birth as c1823

We have found a William Harris, Ag Lag, on the 1841 with a daughter Ann, aged 15, living in Long Coombe and wonder if the Coate is in fact Coombe. IGI can take us back a little further on this William but we are reluctant to take this line any further back without verification.

Hope you can help

Regards

Pam
