Hi Margaret Rose
I am trying to find the mother of WILLIAM JOHN BROWN (gggrandfather)
In the Parish record there is...........
BURIAL .....27th Dec. 1820 LONG WITTENHAM ELIZABETH BROWN AGED 21
I am trying to find if she is the mother of William John Brown b. 29.11.1818 poss Long Wittenham.or could be Eaton, Appleton His father John Brown ( Widower ) remarried Ann Preston (Presson?) 1828 in Long Wittenham and had more sons....... John Brown was bapt. 9.12.1798 Eaton parish Of Appleton His parents were William and Elizabeth.
I have info from second marriage on but have been trying for many years to find William''s mother and confirmation of place of birth.
I have been told that this was the only Brown family in Long Wittenham at this time.
Any help would be much appreciated
Many thanks Colleen (Aust.)

Hi Margaret
You have kindly done some research for me in the past (March 2009)
I am still trying to find a birth for Richard FOX who married Hannah Busby 26/4/1725. Swalcliffe (you have already looked for this one) Is there a fathers name on the marriage record?
I am also looking for any marriges for Elizabeth FOX b 1793, Sussanah FOX b1795 and Charlotte FOX b1798 these were the daughters of Thomas FOX & Martha (Smith)
I was also wondering if there is such a thing as a plan (who's buried where) in the graveyards at St Peter & St Paul church in Swalcliffe and Holy Trinity in Sibford Gower.
Thank you in advance
From Jane

SYLVIA The first Cad to be baptised in Newton Purcell was Gracina daughter of Joseph Cad, probably the son of Thomas you believe born in Bucks. This Gracina was buried 12/12/1821 Newton Purcell aged 22 yrs. All I have really done is copy out what you have already written, with a few additions, but hope it is alright. Kindest regards Margaret

SYLVIA IN CANADA 21/11/1799 Launton Joseph Cadd Howell of Adstock Bucks bachelor married Mary Smith of this parish by License with consent of parents witness John Garner, Wm Freeman. Mary Smith had been baptised 24/4/1779 daughter of Edward and Ann Smith you typed 1777 in Launton by accident. There is only one marriage on the Oxfordshire disc for an Edward Smith of Dinton in Bucks in Thame to Ann Wells 19/10/1760 there were no children born in Thame. So they may have gone home to Dinton, just down the road from me....

TERENCE Thomas Frost was baptised 24/9/1786 Mollington son of James and Sarah who had married Mollington 22/10/1782 she being Sarah Taylor witnesses John Osborn, Richard Taylor by Banns
James Frost was baptised Mollington 25/11/1761 son of John and Alice Frost. Previous to this the Frosts were not in Oxfordshire, but one did come in from Sulgarave in Northamptonshire and marry early in the 1700s so perhaps you could look there for your earlier ancestors. try Hugh Wallis' site for a marriage for John Frost and Alice about 1760 Sorry this was spread over so many entries, my new computer insists on it..

Hi Margaret
I don't know whether your records go this far back. I have information about them ......... but would like to confirm that what I have is true. Plus of course anyhting else that you can discover.
My 3 x gt grandfather Joseph Cad(d) Howell married Mary Smith 21 November 1799 in Launton, Oxfordshire. Mary was born 24 April 1777, Launton, daughter of Edward Smith and Ann (surname unknown).
Can you find anyhting else about Mary, her mother's surname etc?
Secondly, 4 x gt uncle Thomas Cadd married two Oxfordshire lassies.
He married Ann Franklin Cox in 1772 in Buckinghamshire. She was born ca 1752 in Middleton Stoney, Oxford, and died in 1779, I believe in Buckinghamshire. They had at least one son, Joseph Cadd, born in Buckinghamshire in 1775 but died in Newton Purcell in 1828.
Thomas then married Grace Gibbard in 1782 in Newton Purcell (I G I says Finmere???). She was born ca 1756 and died in 1822 in Newton Purcell.
I know nothing about the families of either Ann or Grace. I would also like to know if Thomas and Grace had any children.
Thomas died in 1825 in Newton Purcell.
Thank you very much
sylvia

Hi Margaret
Another little favour from you please.
I believe my ancestors George Frost and Ann Hazlewood were married near Banbury in 1844.
I think they had children MaryAnn, Sarah, Emma, some I can't read, and a Joshua.
Anything you can come back with on either the wedding or the children would be wonderful.
Many thanks
Terry
