SPANISH EYES
Edward Lunnon died Reading 1875 aged 40 yrs perhaps he is your chap.
his wife Mary Ann Maynard is recorded on the 1871 census as born Swycombe Oxfordshire
There follows the baptisms of Mary Anns in Swyncombe around the probable time of her birth
3/9/1843 Mary Ann Brown dtr Wm and Emma of the parish of Ewelme
30/1/1842 Mary Ann Hopkins daughter of John and Louisa
11/7/1847 Mary Ann Astin dtr Charles and Elizabeth.
It was thought that Mary Ann married to Edward Lunnon may have been married previously so the name Maynard which appears on her children's birth certificates may have been from a previous marriage, not her birth surname.

William Simpsons wife was indeed Elizabeth House,Hows Howse but I am still trying to find Williams birth/baptism.

Hi Margaret. Thanks again for information. Do you know who John Nunney b 26/6/1632 was married to please. Hilary

Margaret

Margaret Report 11 Jan 2010 11:00

ALBAN
perhaps Anne was the name of Elizabeth House's mother.
Joseph the father of William Simpson, with Jacob either a brother or uncle of Wm Simpson.
There is a Jacob Simpson baptised in Broadwell, and marrying there. Also a William Simpson, but not yours as he marries in 1824 Broadwell.
Sorry not a lot of help, the ones in Broadwell use Simson as well as Simpson. If there is a repeat of a name in the children of Wm Simpson when one died perhaps that would be a clue to the importance of the name. Probably teaching grandma to suck eggs, but not much else to add. Regret not being more helpful.

ALBAN
The children baptised in Shipton Under Wychwood, the church used for Milton Under Wychwood until the 1800s were
Anne 20/1/1822
Joseph 14/5/1826
Jacob 31/8/1828
William 14/8/1831
Elizabeth 5/10/1834
this, I know is not what you asked for, and if the marriage was in Oxford St Aldate 16/5/1821, where no parents are mentioned, and they were both of this parish. which means little in the Oxford City Registers except that they stayed long enough to gain Both of this Parish.

HILARY
There is no baptism in Burford for a Mary Edwards alias Carter, nor is there a marriage for a Mary Edwards to a Carter on the marriage disc. It is reasonable to suppose that Mary Edwards was illegitimate and this notation gives notice of her father.
Here are the baptisms in Burford of the children of John Nunny who had married Mary 4/7/1631 Burford
24/6/1632 John son of John
15/11/1635 Humphry son of John

14/5/1643 Joyce dtr John

I am Stuck with searching for the birth place of William Simpson born about 1791 who, lived in Milton under Wychwood until 1830's when he moved to Glos. He was married in Oxford and I have details of this.
He is not the birth recorded in Brize Norton for a William S. as I have traced this to a census entry made after my Williams death in 1851.

Are you able to assist with any other possibilities?

Hilary

Hilary Report 7 Jan 2010 16:20

Hi Margaret. Still loooking for nunneys. Could you please tell me if Humphrey and Phillis marries 25th June 1664 Burford had any children and also John and Mary married 4th July 1631 Burford. Mary Edwards (john's wife) was alias Carter, was that because she was married before.
Thanks Hilary
