Hi Margaret,
For the fourth time I try to send you a message of gratitude for your excellent efforts for me! The first time my message crashed because my automatic renewal subscription had failed due to change of credit card!
I did not read the GR receipt message in due time!
The second time my reply failed due to my "finger" trouble.
The third time the GR site was under repair - I hope this message reaches you.

I am most grateful for your very prompt answers which give me all that I need at this time. Hope I can impose on you again in the future if I need more help about my ancestors in Oxon.

Elizabeth 20/5/1739
Ann 22/3/1740
Henry 9/12/1744
with the big gap between the first child baptised in Chadlington, they probably lived elsewhere between the marriage and the baptism of James in 1734, but it was not in Brize Norton.
I cannot find baptisms for William nor Sarah. Sorry not much information.

William Ward married Sarah Cocket 1/5/1731 Brize Norton.
Do not take the name Cocket too literally, there is another marriage in 1731 for a Mary Corket, so it probably is a variant of Corket, Calcut, Cawket or some other similar sounding name.
they were buried in Chadlington
25/2/1781 James of Shorthampton
14/5/1786 Sary pau. (sic.)

they had baptised in Chadlington
James 2/11/1734
Hannah 29/11/1735
Joseph 15/5/1737

Hi Margaret,

I note your very kind offer. If your offer is still open can you help me?

I am looking for my great grandmother Mary Ann Brown said to have been born in Henley on Thames in 1825 according to all the census returns 1851 to 1891. Suspect that HOT is the District and do not know the Parish.

She married my g.grandfather in 1849 in London and her married name is Monday (I have the certificate).

I have her living at Friday Street HOT in 1846 when her first child Charlotte Monday was born.

So far I have not been able to trace her birth. Be most grateful if you can locate her.

So if we think that they are a long lived family of perhaps 80+ years it gives an idea of about 1715 for a birth year for the John Cox who married Jane Sanders. As she was born in about 1726 going by her burial age.
There is a marriage of a
Charles Cox in Chipping Norton to Hannah Cunney 11/2/1709
but they baptised no children in Chipping Norton....
and one
Charles Cox in Banbury to Elizabeth Hayward 28/9/1735 this would give quite an unequal age in the marriage of John Cox to Jane Sanders. But possible. They of course did the dishonourable thing and baptised no children in Banbury....
If you decide to follow the Elizabeth Savory line instead, they may come from
