JANET
There are four baptisms of a Jane in Mapledurham at or near 1808
19/2/1809 Jane Burch daughter of John and Ann maiden name (Linsey)
13/8/1809 Jane Cary daughter Thomas and Sophia (Allum)
11/2/1810 Jane Strong daughter Richard and Martha(Lavell)
18/3/1810 Jane Lewingdon daughter John and Letitia (Dodd)
they were not buried as infants.
Hope this helps.

Hi Margaret

If you have time, could you possibly look for a Joseph Bodrell/Bottrell born c1838, Bicester.

On the 1871 he is living in Upper Machen, Monmouthshire (surname spelling Bodrell) and I think I've found him in 1851 in Bicester with parents William and Mary (surname spelling Bottrell).

Any information you can find would be very much appreciated.

Charles Alder

thank you for that I am pretty sure that is the same family, and I did look at the Alder/Harker marriage the other night I will keep searching for further evidence

actually that is the 1851 census which would make the Jane born in 1808 ish not 1818?

JANET on the 1861 census
William Alder aged 44 yrs ag lab born Abingdon
Jane 43 born Mapledurham
Fanny 9 born Sonning
Charles 7 yrs born Sonning.
looked in Shiplake no Alders there
it is too late for my transcripts for Sonning they end 1837 for baptism of Charles Alder 1844
Looked in Mapledurham for a Jane baptised sometime around 1818
Jane Cordery baptised 18/10/1818 daughter of Henry and Anne he a miller.
I cannot find a marriage for William Alder and jane Cordery on Ancestry
but there is one
William Alder to Jane Harker Abingdon 1837 4th quarter Volume 6 page 199

DARKIE sorry no marriage in Wallingford churches for James and Susan, no mention of maiden name for Susan on baptism for George Owen Cozens.

Sleepy Report 12 Apr 2010 10:49

Hi Margaret

Does it say whether Susan's maiden name is Leach she was born 1869, Aldershot, Hampshire.

James Cozens was baptised est birth 1857/1858, he was the twin of Thomas Cozens, Thomas died aged 6xmonths.

They were both baptised in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. I don't know if this will help you at all. James and Thomas are the sons of Martha Cox and Jesse Cozens, I think sometimes they have recorded different spellings of the surname.
Thank you. Regards Darkie

Hi Margaret

I was wondering if you could look up a George Cousins/Cozens b.October 1890, in Roke Marsh, Benson, Oxfordshire, his name has suddenly popped up in my family history and I can't track him.

I think possibly he is the son of James Cozens and Susan but I am not sure.

Thank you.
