ANN continued
Samuel and Mary Ann had more children baptised than just these two, I have not looked into them as am not sure you will be willing to accept Charles Henry Jones as the one you are looking for.
I can find no connection between Henry Jones and Rebecca Baughan, who I think married Henry Baughan in 1847 in Witney Reg District
she was Rebecca Cook who had been baptised 23/9/1823 Cogges daughter of Robert and Sarah of High Coggs he a labourer.
Sorry not to have more definite news.

I looked for your Henry Jones born c 1867 on the 1871 census, and found Henry Jones born 1864 living in the Ecclesiastical Parish of St John
with his parents
Samuel Jones aged 46 yrs a Mason born in Cardigg
Mary Ann 39 yrs born Brackley N'Hants. and daughter
Nelly aged 1 yr born Cowley

Hello Margaret.

I have a Jesse Dyer in Australia. I am trying to track him, and I believe he may be the one born around 1853 in Crawley, near Witney, who shows in the 1861 census. He married into my wife's family - they came from Cambridgeshire.

Can you find any info on his birth please?

Thanks

Jim

LESLEY this has taken a long time to sort out as John Jenkins and Sarah Cross moved about over Oxford City, and baptised their children at various churches as they went.
John Jenkins was a Gardener's Labourer on the 1851 census, and a Dealer in Clothes on the 1861, on the 1861 he gave his place of birth as Islip in Oxfordshire.
John Jenkins married 21/1/1830 in Oxford St Peter in the East to
Sarah Cross , witnesses Giles Jenkins, Sarah Higgins by Banns, both of this parish... Sarah Cross was of Marcham in Berkshire on the 1861 census, but my transcripts do not go up to that date so cannot look her baptism up.
John Jenkins was baptised 9/8/1807 in Islip son of Thomas and Mary Jenkins

Hi Margaret,

Thank you so very much - yes, it is exactly what I was after. I needed to confirm that Margaret Loder was a sibling to the other children you list born to Letitia and James which you have done. The rest of the background information is a bonus. You are a gem!
