Hi Samantha, I agree with Jayne. Get Walter's birth certificate and confirm his parents and where he was born. Then compare to the 1861 and 1871 censuses. If you are sure you have the right Walter, then the censuses should confirm the birth locations for his parents. You may not be able to be 100% sure of William's parentage, given that he was born before BMD registration. Hey, it's your Tree and if you are comfortable with the research, then go with it. |

My 3xgreat grandfather was Walter Ebdon born 1856 @ Tipton St John, i have Walter's father as William Ebdon married to Harriet Clay. |
