My goodness Richard - I'm impressed, how on earth do you get from Suter to Wright?

It looks very promising, as you say, everything else fits, I'll have a look

I think that Minnie at least stayed in London because she married in Southwark

well they are not at the same address in 1881 that they were at in 1871!
The neighbours are still there though!

So are we looking for Minnie with family in 1881 ?

jerseylily Report 10 Sep 2008 19:29

I have been looking for this family in census returns for the last 2 days and am now admitting defeat and hoping someone can help.

In 1891 and 1901 I have the family Strong, mother Minnie.

There is an 1883 marriage between a George William Strong and a Minnie Suter.

Minnie appears in 1871 with parents Joseph(1831) and Rosina(1841) from Portsmouth and that is the only trace of Suter's that I can find in any censuses despite using wild cards and every spelling variation that IGI can come up with.

Can anybody help?

Thanks
Pam
