He is a widower and has three children, Charles Frederick, Gertrude Florence, Edith Grace.

The date of birth and Army number agree.

Thanks for your kind offer. Could you please have a look in the 1901 British census for William Hamilton, b. 1849 in Hamilton, Scotland?

In the 1881 British census, William Hamilton, age 31, head of household, unmarried, draper, is living at 366 Caledonian Road, London, Middlesex, with his mother, Janet, 59, and a boarder, George De Gray, age 23, shopman (draper).

The 1891 census shows William Hamilton, 41, draper, still living at 366 Caledonian Road, London, Middlesex, with his mother, age 69 (her name mistranscribed as Louisa rather than Janet) and a lodger, Kate Wood, age 30, assistant draper.

I couln't find WIlliam Hamilton in 1901.

im stuck with some facts about my family ok here we go :

charles evans born 1825 ( i think )
dawley salop. his father is john evans and mother sarah fletcher , im not too sure if they are, he's the eldest of 7 , the youngest being charlotte evans born 1837

he married a :
mary tonks born 1828, now i'd like a couple of things if you would, firstly who is mary ann tonks from Darlaston, Staffordshire, England if thats correct,
2ndly im having trouble with charles's dad john evans born 1798 ( if thats correct ) and sarah fletcher , im unsure if this is his mother and shes born in 1796

im just so confused
im not sure of the facts as i cant seem to find them
now ive tried looking for john in an only birth entry as hes from melverley shropshire, this could be incorrect as im not sure. i wanna c when they came to england from wales , as melverley sits right on the border =[ , well thankyou anyhow

wow ! thanks you lots, the bit about charles where it states his brother inlaw , can u read that name ? ive got the census for that in an adobe file but i cant make that out , noah is only a few months , its somthings like eshuara thats what it looks like, im greatful to what uve done and i'll be changing a few details now , hehe
