As I said earlier the two possible births in Gatehead would make her a lot older than you thought.

I don't know Myra. Maybe it was a way to keep the family name going.

A girl I went to school with, her whole family on her mothers side were known by their middle names. Herself & 3 of her cousins all had the same first name but were all known by their middle names. But they weren't sisters.

I first thought maybe they were two separate families but The above marriage is the only Clough / Maddison marriage.

Unless there were naughties going on.

Two sisters maybe!!

I think it must be the OND 1911 Newcastle.
Is Gateshead in County Durham?

There are two Thomas Cloughs registered in OND 1912. One in Wolstanton & one in Lanchester.

Wolstanton is in Staffordshire

Lanchester is County Durham

There is one for OND 1911 in Newcastle

OR

One in JFM 1912 in Gateshead


There isn't a Thomas Clough registered in the OND 1912 or JFM 1913 where you would expect a Dec 25th birth to be. But if the year you have is wrong say he was born 25/12/1911 then it could be either of the two above.
