he married

Eileen Margery Hassell
born around 1910-1920

and she died circa 1952 in parmerston north new zealand

I know you are probably not off work today but having trawled through the boards it looks like you are really clued into this searching lark can you please help if at all possible I am looking for my biological father name Francis poss Frances not sure how it is spelt Charles Clarke approx 62-68 years old if alive lived lastly in Paulsgrove Hampshire had 3 kids prior to me so all born earlier than 1967 was also married but dont know when worked for Eastleigh Railways as a firman on the trains and left to work for Victory Transport this is all the information I have I thinkhis kids were boy 2 girls mother was of west indian origin he british

Hello Tracey, I have a weird family mystery I am longing to sort out for my mum. I am trying to find whether Walter and Clarice West had any surviving children. They married in South Normanton in April 1927 and lived at 36 South Street. Clarice died after childbirth on November 24 1927, aged 20. I would love to know if their child survived. The child may of course have been stillborn but apparently would still have been registered. Any clues? Thank you. Daryl

Thank you for clearing this up for me. I've been in contact with a distant cousin and she has the birth cert for john born 1855, and it states that john's Mother was a Mary Crowther, so Judith must be James's mother in law. you are a gem, i will see if i can find them on any earlier censuses, thank you so much , marie x

Judith is either James's Mother or James Mother in Law....

The census states mother of the head, the head is James.... this makes me think she has married after James father died and she has also lost this husband....

She is NOT the mother of John !!!

Thank you Tracey dont know how you found it but many thanks for that i had been given the name Parker but could not find it myself so thats great just need to find the children now i know there names are Brian and Jean and i think i have found jeans but cant find brian but he has always been know as his mothers maiden name gould so dont know if he was james son or not.

where do you get all this , you have really confirmed a few things for me and i am eternally gratefull to you,
I'm a bit confused abt the 1871, census is this Judith age 70 yrs a bit old to be john and Thomas's mother or is she there stepmother.

I did get a birth cert for Alice dated 1870 ,Whitchchurch, but it had the right father John Dodd
but her mothers name was unreadable so i'm not sure if i got the right one, thanks for all ur help regards Marie.

The children are all listed with Alice as their mother, but clearly this isn't the case, for example Clara is born in 1879... but Alice's own birth was 1869!!

I have marked who i think are indeed John & Alice's children...All of John's children of his previous wife were born the same place as John, all the children with Alice are born Pendleton.

Alice's birth location is listed as not known..... that doesn't help!

I'll try and find her after i have unravelled John....

No i don't know, I just wish I did, My dad didn't tell me much about them, he didn't tell me he had 2 other daugthers, it's strange i know.
