Hello Angelsong This is the marriage you were looking for
15th July 1902 George Francis Hamon, aged 23, Tailor's Cutter, living in St Helier, born in St Helier, father Philip Hamon, Tailor. to Ellen Hubert, aged 26, living in St Helier, born in St Helier, father Alfred Hubert, Upholsterer.
The witnesses were Alfred Hubert and Ada Hamon and the marriage took place at the Bible Christian Chapel in Great Union Rd, St Helier.
If you want the certificate the reference is June 1901 to Nov 1903 Volume, Page 38.
As both families were of Jersey origin it shouldn't be too difficult for me to work a bit further back if you want.
All the best Pam

Hi Maria
Do you have any more to go on?
From the Jersey 1881 the most likely family seems to comprise John aged 65, a Greenwich pensioner with his wife Mary and children Mark, James, Ellen, John and Mary. Any other Johns either have no children or are living alone.

Hi Sarah This is the marriage you wanted
28/11/1890 William Ryan, aged 23, bachelor, gunner artillery, living in St Helier, born in County Clare, Ireland, father John Ryan, labourer to Elizabeth Paul, aged 21, spinster, servant, living in St Aubin, born Beaminster, Dorset, father Eli Paul, thatcher
Witnesses Joseph Gilmore and Alice de Gruchy.
married in the Church of St Mary and St Peter (RC - known as the Irish Church)
The reference for that certificate is St Helier register 1889 - 1893, Page 31 but it would cost you £10 and I have copied what it said.
Births 29/11/1891 at La Collette, John Henry son of the above 25/12/1892 at Havre des Pas, Amelia Norah daughter of the above
There were soldiers stationed at a place called Fort Regent which is very close to both addresses
The Kathleen belonged to another Ryan.
Hope this helps

Hi Teresa Because formal record keeping didn't begin over here until 1842 I can only search the parish records in the hope that she was baptised. I have looked through Grouville and she was not baptised there. Did she have any younger siblings who might be included in the formal records? Pam

Hello Maria I have looked through the St Helier births and have found a few who might be yours - I will need to go and look at the full entry to be sure, I'll probably be able to do that on Monday. There is a Mary Anne Jane Pearce and a John Clifford Pearce born between 1879 and 1881, I don't think they are both yours as the page numbers are too close together. There is also a Caroline Mary born between 1881 and 1882. Other Pearce births after 1882 are Rosabella Mary, Jenetta and William. I'll get back to you next week

Hi Pam
You kindly helped me before and I was wondering if you could find some more info for me. This is something that is driving all the family crackers. My Grandmothers twin sister Georgina Fox born 02/02/1917 married a Frenchman but no-one can remember his name or when they were married. Suggestions have been Marcel Bizzier, Bressay, Bresney, so it is something along those lines and out of many family members no-one can agree what it is. If you could find anything then it would be a great help. Thank you. Louise

Hi Louise I'll certainly give it a try. Have you got any more to go on?
Any of the following would be useful Age at marriage Parish Was his Christian name definitely Marcel
Also bear in mind that a lot of Jersey surnames are French in origin, he may just have had a French name. Again the sort of time they might have been marrying was around WW2 when the Channel Islands were occupied. They may have been evacuated, if she was of English birth it would not have been safe for her to stay in Jersey.
Just had a look on the Jersey Archive site, her name appears in the school log for a St Helier primary school between 1923 and 1936 along with that of Grace Fox - was that her sister? They also have a record of an identity card for a Grace Cavell Campbell née Fox but not one for Georgina which she would have had if she was here during the Occupation.

Hi Louise
Surprised myself by finding this one quite easily. Georgina Edith Fox married Marcel Louis Béréxay between Oct 1937 and July 1939. I can look at the full details ie Father's names, places of origin etc next week.
As the entry is on page 3 of the volume it means that they married towards the beginning of those years, probably late 1937. Also they did not marry in a C of E church, my guess would be RC.

Hi Pam
Wow I was'nt expecting a result so quick. Yes Georgina is Grace Cavell Fox's un-identical twin both were born in Jersey. I did find Grace's ID and registration forms in the archive when I was there. I don't know if Georgina stayed in Jersey during the war but I know her parents and some other brothers and sisters did. Her father is Henry Charles Fox and her Mum was Amelia Esther Maud Fox nee Amy. So if you find the entry with Henry as the father then it is definately her. I can't even imagine how to pronounce Béréxay, no wonder no-one in the family could remember. Thanks very much and I look forward to hearing from you again. Louise

Hi Selina Sorry it's been a while, unfortunately I've nothing to report. I've been through the St Helier death records from 1943 to 2003 and the only Rendall deaths are Clarence Henry(1953-1956) Barbara Chaffe(1973-1974) and Beatrice Lydia (1988-1990). There may be others in the remaining parishes and I'll work my way through them when I have more time - term's started! Pam

Hi Pam
Thankyou for your kind offer
Im trying to trace a David Samuel, im a bit unsure as to birth as census records have conflicting ages..1 would make him born 1811 and the other 1819 both stating he was born in Jersey. His father was a Jacob Samuel (occ stonemason). I have not traced Jacob on any census records, but have David from 1851 Living in Liverpool. So not sure when he moved from Jesey, I'm gussing by the surname, and future children they maybe Jewish, at a later date a S was added at the end of the surname Any information would be very much appriecated.
Thanks
Julie
